It is a fact that some Japanese children have the fear of talking English because they think that the will mess up. One has to take it upon themselves to always motivate and encourage these students.
Secondly, as much as there are a lot of challenges that comes with teaching English in Japan, one has to ensure that he or she gives in all their energy. For a lesson to be lively, then it is upon the teacher to put on some energy. One has to also ensure that they are not the only ones doing the talking and they should let the students to speak too. One has to therefore come up with activities that will make it possible for the students to interact by talking.
Another factor that one has to consider if they want to go teach English in Japan is using tools that the students are able to relate with. Such factors that the students can be able to familiarize with are the characters of a movie. Respecting the culture of the Japanese is also a factor that one has to consider. The main reason behind this is because the people in Japan have pride in their culture. It would also be necessary for one to find a team teacher who will be able to help them around. Team teaching is majorly advocated for in Japan and in most cases the team teacher is a Japanese who will always be guiding the new teacher.
Finally, an individual has to keep in mind that they are in a new environment and therefore they should ensure to find out what would offend the Japanese. It will therefore ensure that there is no any misunderstanding between the teacher and the students. In most cases the Japanese students tend to sleep in class due to their busy school schedule, a teacher has to therefore understand this and hence should not be annoyed when the students sleep when the lesson is on. Understanding the requirements of the country is also a factor that one has to consider. One will therefore be able to evaluate themselves based on the requirements.
