It is in fact one of the basic defenses. The whole purpose of the triangle defense is to intercept the shots that comes with an angle due to the reason that this is the hardest defense against. To set the triangle defense, consider putting your hands at a position where you will be able to move in a triangle. This is because it is a lot easier to defend when you move backward and placing your lead hand in the front of your goal, which should be 2 feet from the center.
This would be self-explanatory, but you should consider knowing on how to track the puck for you to defend against it. In tracking the puck, it actually means you would have to match the movement of the puck with the mallet you have. If in case the puck comes from the right, you should follow this with your mallet. If this will go to the left, you also need to move the mallet to the left as well. If this ever comes towards the center, you have to move to the center as well. The strategy of tracking your mallet is in fact the best way on intercepting the puck.
Straight Shot Strategy
The straight shot is in fact the simplest type of shot which can be learned because you only need to shoot the puck to straight to the goal. Many people think that this kind of shot is very predictable, but it has its use. The fact that it is the most predictable one, a lot of people won’t expect you to actually be using it. With such a mindset, you could use this strategy as a deceptive counter.
Over Bank Shot
Another strategy aside from the straight shot would be the bank shot. The over bank shot is done if you are going to smash the puck to the wall for it to move from various angles.
Such shot would be where you are going to hit the side of the wall which is closer towards your goal. It’s the most predictable kind of bank shot because it enables your opponent to be able to see the puck coming. You can use this best for opponents that’s usually in an offense or you could also use it for your secret shot.
